Psalms 70

Douay-Rheims 1899

About this edition

Ps 69 in this version

1Unto the end, a psalm for David, to bring to remembrance that the Lord saved him.

2O God, come to my assistance; O Lord, make haste to help me.

3Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek my soul:

4Let them be turned backward, and blush for shame that desire evils to me: Let them be presently turned away blushing for shame that say to me: Tis well, tis well.

5Let all that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee; and let such as love thy salvation say always: The Lord be magnified.

6But I am needy and poor; O God, help me. Thou art my helper and my deliverer: O Lord, make no delay.

Clementine Vulgate 1598

About this edition

Ps 69 in this version

1In finem. Psalmus David in rememorationem, quod salvum fecerit eum Dominus.

2[Deus, in adjutorium meum intende; Domine, ad adjuvandum me festina.

6Ego vero egenus et pauper sum; Deus, adjuva me. Adjutor meus et liberator meus es tu; Domine, ne moreris.]

About this edition

Ps 69 in this version

1Unto the end. A Psalm of David, in remembrance that the Lord had saved him.

2O God, reach out to help me. O Lord, hasten to assist me.

3May those who seek my soul be confounded and awed.

4May those who wish evils upon me be turned back and blush with shame. May they be turned away immediately, blushing with shame, who say to me: “Well, well.”

5Let all who seek you exult and rejoice in you, and let those who love your salvation forever say: “The Lord be magnified.”

6I am truly destitute and poor. O God, assist me. You are my helper and my deliverer. O Lord, do not delay.
