Lévitique 12

1Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant :

2« Parle aux enfants d’Israël, et dis- leur : Quand une femme enfantera et mettra au monde un garçon, elle sera impure pendant sept jours ; elle sera impure comme aux jours de son indisposition menstruelle.

3Le huitième jour, l’enfant sera circoncis ;

4mais elle restera encore trente-trois jours dans le sang de sa purification ; elle ne touchera aucune chose sainte et elle n’ira point au sanctuaire, jusqu’à ce que les jours de sa purification soient accomplis.

5Si elle met au monde une fille, elle sera impure pendant deux semaines, comme à son indisposition menstruelle, et elle restera soixante-six jours dans le sang de sa purification.

6Lorsque les jours de sa purification seront accomplis, pour un fils ou une fille, elle présentera au prêtre, à l’entrée de la tente de réunion, un agneau d’un an en holocauste, et un jeune pigeon ou une tourterelle en sacrifice pour le péché.

7Le prêtre les offrira devant Yahweh, et fera pour elle l’expiation, et elle sera pure du flux de son sang. Telle est la loi pour la femme qui met au monde soit un fils soit une fille.

8Si elle n’a pas de quoi se procurer un agneau, qu’elle prenne deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons, l’un pour l’holocauste, l’autre pour le sacrifice pour le péché ; et le prêtre fera pour elle l’expiation, et elle sera pure. »

1Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:

2Loquere filiis Israël, et dices ad eos: Mulier, si suscepto semine pepererit masculum, immunda erit septem diebus juxta dies separationis menstruæ.

3Et die octavo circumcidetur infantulus:

4ipsa vero triginta tribus diebus manebit in sanguine purificationis suæ. Omne sanctum non tanget, nec ingredietur in sanctuarium, donec impleantur dies purificationis suæ.

5Sin autem feminam pepererit, immunda erit duabus hebdomadibus juxta ritum fluxus menstrui, et sexaginta sex diebus manebit in sanguine purificationis suæ.

6Cumque expleti fuerint dies purificationis suæ, pro filio sive pro filia, deferet agnum anniculum in holocaustum, et pullum columbæ sive turturem pro peccato, ad ostium tabernaculi testimonii, et tradet sacerdoti,

7qui offeret illa coram Domino, et orabit pro ea, et sic mundabitur a profluvio sanguinis sui: ista est lex parientis masculum aut feminam.

8Quod si non invenerit manus ejus, nec potuerit offerre agnum, sumet duos turtures vel duos pullos columbarum, unum in holocaustum, et alterum pro peccato: orabitque pro ea sacerdos, et sic mundabitur.

1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: If a woman having received seed shall bear a man child, she shall be unclean seven days, according to the days of the separation of her flowers.

3And on the eighth day the infant shall be circumcised:

4But she shall remain three and thirty days in the blood of her purification. She shall touch no holy thing, neither shall she enter into the sanctuary, until the days of her purification be fulfilled.

5But if she shall bear a maid child, she shall be unclean two weeks, according to the custom of her monthly courses, and she shall remain in the blood of her purification sixty-six days.

6And when the days of her purification are expired, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, a lamb of a year old for a holocaust, and a young pigeon or a turtle for sin, and shall deliver them to the priest:

7Who shall offer them before the Lord, and shall pray for her, and so she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that beareth a man child or a maid child.

8And if her hand find not sufficiency, and she is not able to offer a lamb, she shall take two turtles, or two young pigeons, one for a holocaust, and another for sin: and the priest shall pray for her, and so she shall be cleansed.
