1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2Speak to the children of Israel and thou shalt say to them: When you shall be come into the land of your habitation, which I will give you,
3And shall make an offering to the Lord, for a holocaust, or a victim, paying your vows, or voluntarily offering gifts, or in your solemnities burning a sweet savour unto the Lord, of oxen or of sheep:
4Whosoever immolateth the victim, shall offer a sacrifice of fine flour, the tenth part of an ephi, tempered with the fourth part of a hin of oil:
5And he shall give the same measure of wine to pour out in libations for the holocaust or for the victim. For every lamb,
6And for every ram there shall be a sacrifice of hour of two tenths, which shall be tempered with the third part of a hin of oil:
7And he shall offer the third part of the same measure of wine for the libation, for a sweet savour to the Lord.
8But when thou offerest a holocaust or sacrifice of oxen, to fulfill thy vow or for victims of peace offerings,
9Thou shalt give for every ox three tenths of flour tempered with half a hin of oil,
10And wine for libations of the same measure, for an offering of most sweet savour to the Lord.
11Thus shalt thou do:
12For every ox and ram and lamb and kid.
13Both they that are born in the land, and the strangers,
14Shall offer sacrifices after the same rite.
15There shall be all one law and judgment both for you and for them who are strangers in the land.
16And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
17Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them:
18When you are come into the land which I will give you,
19And shall eat of the bread of that country, you shall separate firstfruits to the Lord,
20Of the things you eat. As you separate firstfruits of your barnfloors:
21So also shall you give firstfruits of your dough to the Lord.
22And if through ignorance you omit any of these things, which the Lord hath spoken to Moses,
23And by him hath commanded you, from the day that he began to command and thenceforward,
24And the multitude have forgotten to do it: they shall offer a calf out of the herd, a holocaust for a most sweet savour to the Lord, and the sacrifice and libations thereof, as the ceremonies require, and a buck goat for sin:
25And the priest shall pray for all the multitude of the children of Israel: and it shall be forgiven them, because they sinned ignorantly, offering notwithstanding a burnt offering to the Lord for themselves and for their sin and their ignorance:
26And it shall be forgiven all the people of the children of Israel: and the strangers that sojourn among them: because it is the fault of all the people through ignorance.
27But if one soul shall sin ignorantly, he shall offer a she goat of a year old for his sin.
28And the priest shall pray for him, because he sinned ignorantly before the Lord: and he shall obtain his pardon, and it shall be forgiven him.
29The same law shall be for all that sin by ignorance, whether they be natives or strangers.
30But the soul that committeth any thing through pride, whether he be born in the land or a stranger (because he hath been rebellious against the Lord) shall be cut off from among his people:
31For he hath contemned the word the Lord, and made void his precept: therefore shall he be destroyed, and shall bear his iniquity.
32And it came to pass, when the children of Israel were in the wilderness, and had found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day,
33That they brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole multitude.
34And they put him into prison, not knowing what they should do with him.
35And the Lord said to Moses: Let that man die, let all the multitude stone him without the camp.
36And when they had brought him out, they stoned him, and he died as the Lord had commanded.
37The Lord also said to Moses:
38Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt tell them I to make to themselves fringes in the corners of their garments, putting in them ribands of blue:
39That when they shall see them, they may remember all the commandments of the Lord, and not follow their own thoughts and eyes going astray after divers things,
40But rather being mindful of the precepts of the Lord, may do them and be holy to their God.
41I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that I might be your God.

34Qui recluserunt eum in carcerem, nescientes quid super eo facere deberent.
35Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen: Morte moriatur homo iste: obruat eum lapidibus omnis turba extra castra.
40sed magis memores præceptorum Domini faciant ea, sintque sancti Deo suo.

1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2“Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: When you will have entered into the land of your habitation, which I will give you,
3and you make an offering to the Lord, as a holocaust or as a victim, paying your vows, or as a voluntary offering of gifts, or in your solemnities, burning a sweet odor to the Lord, whether from the oxen or from the sheep:
4whoever immolates the victim shall offer a sacrifice of fine wheat flour, the tenth part of an ephah, sprinkled with oil, which shall have the measure of the fourth part of a hin,
5and he shall give the same measure of wine, poured out as libations, whether as a holocaust or as a victim.
6With each lamb and each ram, there shall be a sacrifice of fine wheat flour, of two tenths, which shall be sprinkled with one third part of a hin of oil.
7And he shall offer the same measure, one third part of wine, for the libation, as a sweet odor to the Lord.
8Yet truly, when you will offer, from the oxen, a holocaust or a victim, in order to fulfill your vow or for peace-offering victims,
9you shall give, for each ox, three tenths of fine wheat flour, sprinkled with oil, which has the measure of one half of one hin,
10and the wine, poured out as libations, shall be of the same measure, as an oblation of most sweet odor to the Lord.
11So shall you do
12for each ox, and ram, and lamb, and young goat.
13Both natives and sojourners
14shall offer sacrifices by the same rituals.
15There shall be one precept and one judgment, as much for yourselves as for newcomers to the land.”
16And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
17“Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them:
18When you will arrive in the land which I will give to you,
19and when you will eat from the bread of that region, you shall separate the first-fruits to the Lord
20from the foods that you eat. Just as you separate the first-fruits of your threshing floors,
21so also shall you give the first-fruits of your cooked grains to the Lord.
22And if, through ignorance, you neglect any of these things, which the Lord has spoken to Moses,
23and which he has commanded through him for you, from the day that he began to command and thereafter,
24and if the multitude will have forgotten to do it, then they shall offer a calf from the herd, a holocaust as a most sweet odor to the Lord, and its sacrifice and libations, just as the ceremonies ask, and a he-goat for sin.
25And the priest shall pray for the entire multitude of the sons of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them, because they did not sin willfully. Nevertheless, they shall offer incense to the Lord for themselves, and for sin, as well as for their error.
26And it shall be forgiven all the people of the sons of Israel, as well as the newcomers who sojourn among them, for it is the culpability of all the people through neglect.
27But if one soul will have sinned by not knowing, he shall offer a one-year-old she-goat for his sin.
28And the priest shall pray for him, because he sinned unknowingly before the Lord. And he shall obtain pardon for him, and it will be forgiven him.
29One law shall be for all who sin by ignorance, as much for natives as for newcomers.
30Yet truly, the soul who commits any of these acts through arrogance, whether he is a citizen or a sojourner, because he has rebelled against the Lord, shall perish from among his people.
31For he has despised the word of the Lord, and he has nullified his precept. For this reason, he shall be destroyed, and he shall bear his iniquity.”
32And it happened that, when the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, and they had found a man collecting wood on the day of the Sabbath,
33they brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to the whole multitude.
34And they enclosed him in a prison, not knowing what they should do with him.
35And the Lord said to Moses, “Let that man be put to death; let the entire crowd crush him with stones, outside the camp.”
36And when they had led him out, they overwhelmed him with stones, and he died, just as the Lord had instructed.
37The Lord also said to Moses:
38“Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall tell them to make for themselves hems at the corners of their cloaks, placing in them ribbons of hyacinth,
39so that, when they see these, they may remember all the commandments of the Lord, and they may not follow their own thoughts and eyes, fornicating in various ways,
40but instead, they, being more mindful of the precepts of the Lord, may do them and may be holy to their God.
41I am the Lord your God, who led you away from the land of Egypt, so that I may be your God.”
