1A canticle of a psalm for David himself.

2My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready: I will sing, and will give praise, with my glory.

3Arise, my glory; arise, psaltery and harp: I will arise in the morning early.

4I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing unto thee among the populations.

5For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth even unto the clouds.

6Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory over all the earth:

7That thy beloved may be delivered. Save with thy right hand and hear me.

8God hath spoken in his holiness. I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem and I will mete out the vale of tabernacles.

9Galaad is mine, and Manasses is mine and Ephraim the protection of my head. Juda is my king:

10Moab the pot of my hope. Over Edom I will stretch out my shoe: the aliens are become my friends.

11Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

12Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our armies?

13O grant us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

14Through God we shall do mightily: and he will bring our enemies to nothing.

1Canticum Psalmi, ipsi David.

7ut liberentur dilecti tui. Salvum fac dextera tua, et exaudi me.

8Deus locutus est in sancto suo: Exsultabo, et dividam Sichimam; et convallem tabernaculorum dimetiar.

9Meus est Galaad, et meus est Manasses, et Ephraim susceptio capitis mei. Juda rex meus;

10Moab lebes spei meæ: in Idumæam extendam calceamentum meum; mihi alienigenæ amici facti sunt.

11Quis deducet me in civitatem munitam? quis deducet me usque in Idumæam?

1A Canticle Psalm, of David himself.

2My heart is prepared, O God, my heart is prepared. I will sing songs, and I will sing psalms in my glory.

3Rise up, my glory. Rise up, Psalter and harp. I will arise in early morning.

4I will confess to you, O Lord, among the peoples. And I will sing psalms to you among the nations.

5For your mercy is great, beyond the heavens, and your truth, even to the clouds.

6Be exalted, O God, beyond the heavens, and your glory, beyond all the earth,

7so that your beloved may be freed. Save with your right hand, and heed me.

8God has spoken in his holiness. I will exult, and I will divide Shechem, and I will divide by measure the steep valley of tabernacles.

9Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine, and Ephraim is the supporter of my head. Judah is my king.

10Moab is the cooking pot of my hope. I will extend my shoe in Idumea; the foreigners have become my friends.

11Who will lead me into the fortified city? Who will lead me, even into Idumea?

12Will not you, O God, who had rejected us? And will not you, O God, go out with our armies?

13Grant us help from tribulation, for vain is the help of man.

14In God, we will act virtuously, and he will bring our enemies to nothing.
