Êxodo 40

1O Senhor falou a Moisés, dizendo:

2No primeiro dia do primeiro mês, levantarás o tabernáculo da reunião

3e porás nele a arca, e estenderás o véu diante dela;

4trazida para dentro a mesa, porás sobre ela o que foi legitimamente mandado. Estará (no tabernáculo) o candeeiro com as suas lâmpadas,

5e o altar de ouro, sobre o qual se queime o incenso, diante da arca do testemunho. Estenderás um véu à entrada do tabernáculo,

6e diante dele (colocarás) o altar dos holocaustos.

7(Colocarás) a bacia, que encherás de água, entre o altar e o tabernáculo.

8Cercarás de cortinas o átrio e a sua entrada.

9Tomado o óleo da unção, ungirás o tabernáculo com seus utensílios, para ficarem santificados;

10ungirás o altar dos holocaustos e todos os seus utensílios; consagrarás o altar e ele será santíssimo:

11ungirás a bacia com a sua base e consagrá-la-ás.

12Farás chegar Aarão e seus filhos à entrada do tabernáculo da reunião, e depois de lavados em água,

13os revestirás das vestes sagradas, para que me sirvam, e a sua unção conferirá, a ele e aos seus descendentes, um sacerdócio perpétuo.

14Moisés fez tudo o que o Senhor lhe mandara.

15No primeiro mês do segundo ano, no primeiro dia do mês, foi levantado o tabernáculo.

16Moisés erigiu-o, pôs (nos seus lugares) as tábuas, as bases e os barrotes, levantou as colunas,

17e estendeu o tecto sobre o tabernáculo, pondo por cima dele a coberta, como o Senhor tinha mandado.

18Pôs também o testemunho na arca, metidos por baixo os varais, (ficando) em cima o oráculo.

19Tendo introduzido a arca no tabernáculo, suspendeu diante dela o véu, para cumprir o mandado do Senhor.

20Pôs também a mesa no tabernáculo da reunião, da parte setentrional, fora do véu,

21dispostos por ordem diante (do Senhor) os pães da proposição, como o Senhor tinha mandado a Moisés.

22Pôs também o candeeiro no tabernáculo da reunião na parte austral, defronte da mesa,

23e colocou nos seus lugares as lâmpadas, conforme o mandado do Senhor.

24Pôs também o altar de ouro no tabernáculo da reunião, defronte do véu,

25e queimou sobre ele o incenso dos aromas, como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés.

26Pôs também a cortina à entrada do tabernáculo da reunião,

27e o altar dos holocaustos no vestíbulo do tabernáculo, oferecendo nele holocaustos e sacrifícios como o Senhor tinha mandado.

28Pôs, além disso, a bacia entre o tabernáculo da reunião e o altar, enchendo-a de água.

29Moisés, Aarão e seus filhos lavaram as suas mãos e pés,

30quando estavam para entrar no tabernáculo da reunião e para se aproximar do altar, como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés.

31Erigiu também o átrio ao redor do tabernáculo e do altar, lançando a cortina à sua entrada. Depois de acabadas todas estas coisas,

32a nuvem cobriu o tabernáculo da reunião, e a glória do Senhor o encheu.

33Moisés não podia entrar no tabernáculo da reunião visto que a nuvem cobria tudo, e a majestade do Senhor resplandecia, tendo a nuvem coberto todas as coisas.

34Quando a nuvem deixava o tabernáculo, os filhos de Israel partiam divididos pelas suas turmas:

35se ficava suspensa em cima, permaneciam no mesmo lugar,

36pois a nuvem do Senhor, de dia, repousava sobre o tabernáculo, e de noite aparecia nela uma chama, à vista de todo o povo de Israel, em todo o tempo que durou a sua caminhada.

1Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:

2Mense primo, prima die mensis, eriges tabernaculum testimonii,

3et pones in eo arcam, dimittesque ante illam velum:

4et illata mensa, pones super eam quæ rite præcepta sunt. Candelabrum stabit cum lucernis suis,

5et altare aureum, in quo adoletur incensum, coram arca testimonii. Tentorium in introitu tabernaculi pones,

6et ante illud altare holocausti:

7labrum inter altare et tabernaculum, quod implebis aqua.

8Circumdabisque atrium tentoriis, et ingressum ejus.

9Et assumpto unctionis oleo unges tabernaculum cum vasis suis, ut sanctificentur:

10altare holocausti et omnia vasa ejus,

11labrum cum basi sua: omnia unctionis oleo consecrabis, ut sint Sancta sanctorum.

12Applicabisque Aaron et filios ejus ad fores tabernaculi testimonii, et lotos aqua

13indues sanctis vestibus, ut ministrent mihi, et unctio eorum in sacerdotium sempiternum proficiat.

14Fecitque Moyses omnia quæ præceperat Dominus.

15Igitur mense primo anni secundi, prima die mensis, collocatum est tabernaculum.

16Erexitque Moyses illud, et posuit tabulas ac bases et vectes, statuitque columnas,

17et expandit tectum super tabernaculum, imposito desuper operimento, sicut Dominus imperaverat.

18Posuit et testimonium in arca, subditis infra vectibus, et oraculum desuper.

19Cumque intulisset arcam in tabernaculum, appendit ante eam velum ut expleret Domini jussionem.

20Posuit et mensam in tabernaculo testimonii ad plagam septentrionalem extra velum,

21ordinatis coram propositionis panibus, sicut præceperat Dominus Moysi.

22Posuit et candelabrum in tabernaculo testimonii e regione mensæ in parte australi,

23locatis per ordinem lucernis, juxta præceptum Domini.

24Posuit et altare aureum sub tecto testimonii contra velum,

25et adolevit super eo incensum aromatum, sicut jusserat Dominus Moysi.

26Posuit et tentorium in introitu tabernaculi testimonii,

27et altare holocausti in vestibulo testimonii, offerens in eo holocaustum, et sacrificia, ut Dominus imperaverat.

28Labrum quoque statuit inter tabernaculum testimonii et altare, implens illud aqua.

29Laveruntque Moyses et Aaron ac filii ejus manus suas et pedes,

30cum ingrederentur tectum fœderis, et accederent ad altare, sicut præceperat Dominus Moysi.

31Erexit et atrium per gyrum tabernaculi et altaris, ducto in introitu ejus tentorio. Postquam omnia perfecta sunt,

32operuit nubes tabernaculum testimonii, et gloria Domini implevit illud.

33Nec poterat Moyses ingredi tectum fœderis, nube operiente omnia, et majestate Domini coruscante, quia cuncta nubes operuerat.

34Siquando nubes tabernaculum deserebat, proficiscebantur filii Israël per turmas suas:

35si pendebat desuper, manebant in eodem loco.

36Nubes quippe Domini incubabat per diem tabernaculo, et ignis in nocte, videntibus cunctis populis Israël per cunctas mansiones suas.

1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2The first month, the first day of the month, thou shalt set up the tabernacle of the testimony,

3And shalt put the ark in it, and shalt let down the veil before it:

4And thou shalt bring in the table, and set upon it the things that are commanded according to the rite. The candlestick shall stand with its lamps,

5And the altar of gold whereon the incense is burnt, before the ark of the testimony. Thou shalt put the hanging in the entry of the tabernacle,

6And before it the altar of holocaust:

7The laver between the altar and the tabernacle, and thou shalt fill it with water.

8And thou shalt encompass the court with hangings, and the entry thereof.

9And thou shalt take the oil of unction and anoint the tabernacle with its vessels, that they may be sanctified:

10The altar of holocaust and all its vessels:

11The laver with its foot: thou shalt consecrate all with the oil of unction, that they may be most holy.

12And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and having washed them with water,

13Thou shalt put on them the holy vestments, that they may minister to me, and that the unction of them may prosper to an everlasting priesthood.

14And Moses did all that the Lord had commanded.

15So in the first month of the second year, the first day of the month, the tabernacle was set up.

16And Moses reared it up, and placed the boards and the sockets and the bars, and set up the pillars,

17And spread the roof over the tabernacle, putting over it a cover, as the Lord had commanded.

18And he put the testimony in the ark, thrusting bars underneath, and the oracle above.

19And when he had brought the ark into the tabernacle, he drew the veil before it to fulfill the commandment of the Lord.

20And he set the table in the tabernacle of the testimony at the north side without the veil,

21Setting there in order the loaves of proposition, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

22He set the candlestick also in the tabernacle of the testimony over against the table on the south side,

23Placing the lamps in order, according to the precept of the Lord.

24He set also the altar of gold under the roof of the testimony over against the veil,

25And burnt upon it the incense of spices, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

26And he put also the hanging in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony,

27And the altar of holocaust of the entry of the testimony, offering the holocaust, and the sacrifices upon it, as the Lord had commanded.

28And he set the laver between the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, filling it with water.

29And Moses and Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and feet,

30When they went into the tabernacle of the covenant, and went to the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

31He set up also the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, drawing the hanging in the entry thereof. After all things were perfected,

32The cloud covered the tabernacle of the testimony, and the glory of the Lord filled it.

33Neither could Moses go into the tabernacle of the covenant, the cloud covering all things and the majesty of the Lord shining, for the cloud had covered all.

34If at any time the cloud removed from the tabernacle, the children of Israel went forward by their troops:

35If it hung over, they remained in the same place.

36For the cloud of the Lord hung over the tabernacle by day, and a fire by night, in the sight of all the children of Israel throughout all their mansions.
