1I secondi a uscire a sorte furono i figliuoli di Simeon distinti nelle loro famiglie: e il loro retaggio

2Fu nel mezzo della porzione di Giuda, (ed ebbero) Bersabee, e Sabee, e Molada,

3E Haser-sual, Bala, e Asem,

4Ed Eltholad, Bethul, e Harma,

5E Siceleg, e Bethmarchaboth, e Hasersusa,

6E Beth-lebaoth, e Sarohem: tredici città co' loro villaggi.

7Ain, e Remmon, e Athar, e Asan: quattro città co' loro villaggi:

8E tutti i castelli all'intorno di queste città fino a Balaath-Beer, Ramath, dalla parte di mezzodì. Questa è la porzione de' figliuoli di Simeon distinti nelle loro famiglie.

9(La qual porzione) fu tolta dalla porzione, e dal retaggio di Giuda; perchè era troppo ampio: e per questo i figliuoli di Simeone ebbero la loro parte in mezzo alla porzione di Giuda.

10Uscirono in terzo luogo a sorte i figliuoli di Zabulon distinti nelle loro famiglie, e i confini del loro dominio andarono fino a Sarid.

11E salgono dal mare, e da Merala, e giungono a Debbaseth sino al torrente, che è dirimpetto a Jecona.

12E volgono da Zared verso levante a' confini di Ceseleththabor: e s'inoltrano a Dabereth, e si avanzano verso Japhie.

13E di là passano sino alla regione orientale di Geth-hepher, e di Thacasin: e vanno a Remmon, Amthar, e Noa.

14E girano a settentrione verso Hanathon: e vanno a finire alla valle di Jephtahel

15Ed a Cateth, e Naalol, e Semeron, e Jedala, e Bethlehem: dodici città co' loro villaggi

16Questa è la porzione, queste le città co' loro villaggi, che toccarono in sorte alla tribù de' figliuoli di Zabulon distinti nelle loro famiglie.

17Uscì in quarto luogo a sorte la tribù d'Issachar distinta nelle sue famiglie:

18Ed ebbe per sua porzione Jezrael, e Casaloth, e Sunem,

19E Hapharaim, e Seon, e Anaharath,

20E Rabboth, e Cesion, e Abes,

21E Rameth, e Engannim, e Enhadda, e Beth-pheses.

22E i suoi confini arrivarono sino a Thabor, a Sehesima, e Bethsames: e finiscono al Giordano: sedici città co' loro villaggi.

23Questa è la porzione, queste le città co' loro villaggi, che toccarono in sorte a' figliuoli d'Issachar distinti nelle loro famiglie.

24Uscì in quinto luogo a sorte la tribù de' figliuoli di Aser distinti nelle loro famiglie:

25E loro confini furono ad Halchath, e Chali, e Beten, e Axaph,

26Elmelech, e Amaad, e Messal: e vanno fino al Carmelo del mare, e a Sihor, e a Labanath.

27E volgono a levante verso Beth-dagon: e passano fino a Zabulon, e alla valle di Jephtel verso tramontana, e fino a Bethemec, e Nehiel. E s'inoltra al lato sinistro di Cabul,

28E ad Abran, e Rohob, e Hamon, e Cana, fino a Sidone la grande:

29E tornano verso Horma fino alla città fortissima di Tiro, e fino ad Hosa: e finiscono al mare nel territorio di Achziba:

30E includono Amma, e Aphec, e Rohob: ventidue città coi loro villaggi.

31Questa è la porzione, e queste le città co' loro villaggi, che toccarono a' figliuoli di Aser distinti nelle loro famiglie.

32Uscirono a sorte in sesto luogo i figliuoli di Nephtali distinti nelle loro famiglie:

33E i loro confini cominciavano da Eleph, e da Elon in Saananim, e Adami, che dicesi anche Neceb, e da Jebnael fino a Lecum; e vanno a finire al Giordano:

34E volgono da occidente verso Azanotthabor, e di là vanno verso Hucuca, e passano a Zabulon dalla parte di mezzodì, e in Aser da occidente, e verso Giuda da levante,

35Sue città fortissime, Assedim, Ser, ed Emath, e Reccath, e Cenereth,

36E Edema, e Arama, Asor:

37E Cedes, ed Edrai, Enhasor,

38E Jeron, e Magdalel, Horem, e Bethanath, e Bethsames: diciannove città co' loro villaggi.

39Questa è la porzione, e queste le città co' loro villaggi possedute da' figliuoli di Nephtali distinti nelle loro famiglie.

40Uscì a sorte in settimo luogo la tribù de' figliuoli di Dan distinti nelle lor famiglie:

41E dentro i confini della loro porzione fu Sara, ed Esthaol, e Hirsemes, cioè città del Sole,

42Selebin, e Ajalon, e Jethela,

43Elon, e Themna, e Acron,

44Elthece, Gebbethon, e Balaath,

45E Jud, e Bane, e Barach, e Gethremmon:

46E Mejarcon, e Arecon con quel tratto che guarda Joppe:

47E qui termina il loro confine. Ma i figliuoli di Dan si mossero, e assaltarono Lesem, e la presero: e tutto misero a fil di spada, e ne rimaser padroni, e vi abitarono, dandole il nome di Lesem-Dan dal nome di Dan loro padre.

48Questa è la porzione, e queste le città co' loro villaggi possedute da' figliuoli di Dan distinti nelle loro famiglie.

49E finita che fu di distribuirsi a sorte la terra a tutti, tribù per tribù, i figliuoli d'Israele diedero a Giosuè figliuolo di Nun la sua porzione tra di loro,

50Secondo l'ordine del Signore, la città ch'ei domandò, Thamnath-Saraa sul monte Ephraim; ed egli riedificò la città, e vi abitò.

51Queste sono le porzioni distribuite a sorte da Eleazaro sacerdote, e da Giosuè figliuolo di Nun, e da' principi delle famiglie, e delle tribù de' figliuoli d'Israele in Silo, dinanzi al Signore alla porta del tabernacolo del testimonio, e questa fu la divisione che fecero del paese.

8omnes viculi per circuitum urbium istarum usque ad Baalath Beer Ramath contra australem plagam. Hæc est hæreditas filiorum Simeon juxta cognationes suas,

9in possessione et funiculo filiorum Juda: quia major erat, et idcirco filii Simeon possederunt in medio hæreditatis eorum.

10Ceciditque sors tertia filiorum Zabulon per cognationes suas: factus est terminus possessionis eorum usque Sarid.

11Ascenditque de mari et Merala, et pervenit in Debbaseth, usque ad torrentem qui est contra Jeconam.

12Et revertitur de Sared contra orientem in fines Ceseleththabor: et egreditur ad Dabereth, ascenditque contra Japhie.

13Et inde pertransit usque ad orientalem plagam Gethepher et Thacasin: et egreditur in Remmon, Amthar et Noa.

14Et circuit ad aquilonem Hanathon: suntque egressus ejus vallis Jephthaël,

15et Cateth et Naalol et Semeron et Jerala et Bethlehem: civitates duodecim, et villæ earum.

16Hæc est hæreditas tribus filiorum Zabulon per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

17Issachar egressa est sors quarta per cognationes suas:

18fuitque ejus hæreditas Jezraël et Casaloth et Sunem

19et Hapharaim et Seon, et Anaharath

20et Rabboth et Cesion, Abes,

21et Rameth, et Engannim, et Enhadda et Bethpheses.

22Et pervenit terminus ejus usque Thabor et Sehesima et Bethsames, eruntque exitus ejus Jordanis: civitates sedecim, et villæ earum.

23Hæc est possessio filiorum Issachar per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

24Ceciditque sors quinta tribui filiorum Aser per cognationes suas:

25fuitque terminus eorum Halcath et Chali et Beten et Axaph

26et Elmelech et Amaad et Messal: et pervenit usque ad Carmelum maris et Sihor et Labanath,

27ac revertitur contra orientem Bethdagon: et pertransit usque Zabulon et vallem Jephthaël contra aquilonem in Bethemec et Nehiel. Egrediturque ad lævam Cabul,

28et Abran et Rohob et Hamon et Cana, usque ad Sidonem magnam.

29Revertiturque in Horma usque ad civitatem munitissimam Tyrum, et usque Hosa: eruntque exitus ejus in mare de funiculo Achziba:

30et Amma et Aphec et Rohob: civitates viginti duæ, et villæ earum.

31Hæc est possessio filiorum Aser per cognationes suas, urbesque et viculi earum.

32Filiorum Nephthali sexta sors cecidit per familias suas:

33et cœpit terminus de Heleph et Elon in Saananim, et Adami, quæ est Neceb, et Jebnaël usque Lecum: et egressus eorum usque ad Jordanem:

34revertiturque terminus contra occidentem in Azanotthabor, atque inde egreditur in Hucuca, et pertransit in Zabulon contra meridiem, et in Aser contra occidentem, et in Juda ad Jordanem contra ortum solis:

35civitates munitissimæ, Assedim, Ser, et Emath, et Reccath et Cenereth,

36et Edema et Arama, Asor

37et Cedes et Edrai, Enhasor,

38et Jeron et Magdalel, Horem et Bethanath et Bethsames: civitates decem et novem, et villæ earum.

39Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Nephthali per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

40Tribui filiorum Dan per familias suas egressa est sors septima:

41et fuit terminus possessionis ejus Sara et Esthaol, et Hirsemes, id est, civitas solis.

42Selebin et Ajalon et Jethela,

43Elon et Themna et Acron,

44Elthece, Gebbethon et Balaath,

45et Jud et Bane et Barach et Gethremmon:

46et Mejarcon et Arecon, cum termino qui respicit Joppen,

47et ipso fine concluditur. Ascenderuntque filii Dan, et pugnaverunt contra Lesem, ceperuntque eam: et percusserunt eam in ore gladii, et possederunt, et habitaverunt in ea, vocantes nomen ejus Lesem Dan, ex nomine Dan patris sui.

48Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Dan, per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

49Cumque complesset sorte dividere terram singulis per tribus suas, dederunt filii Israël possessionem Josue filio Nun in medio sui,

50juxta præceptum Domini, urbem quam postulavit Thamnath Saraa in monte Ephraim: et ædificavit civitatem, habitavitque in ea.

51Hæ sunt possessiones, quas sorte diviserunt Eleazar sacerdos, et Josue filius Nun, et principes familiarum ac tribuum filiorum Israël in Silo, coram Domino ad ostium tabernaculi testimonii: partitique sunt terram.

1And the second lot came forth for the children of Simeon by their kindreds: and their inheritance was

2In the midst of the possession of the children of Juda: Bersabee and Sabee and Molada,

3And Hasersual, Bala and Asem,

4And Eltholad, Bethul and Harma,

5And Siceleg and Bethmarchaboth and Hasersusa,

6And Bethlebaoth and Sarohen: thirteen cities, and their villages.

7Ain and Remmon and Athor and Asan: four cities, and their villages.

8And all the villages round about these cities to Baalath Beer Ramath to the south quarter. This is the inheritance of the children of Simeon according to their kindreds,

9In the possession and lot of the children of Juda: because it was too great, and therefore the children of Simeon had their possession in the midst of their inheritance.

10And the third lot fell to the children of Zabulon by their kindreds: and the border of their possession was unto Sarid.

11And it went up from the sea and from Merala, and came to Debbaseth: as far as the torrent, which is over against Jeconam.

12And it returneth from Sarid eastward to the borders of Ceseleththabor: and it goeth out to Dabereth, and ascendeth towards Japhie.

13And it passeth along from thence to the east side of Gethhepher and Thacasin: and goeth out to Remmon, Amthar and Noa.

14And it turneth about to the north of Hanathon: and the outgoings thereof are the valley of Jephtahel,

15And Cateth and Naalol and Semeron and Jedala and Bethlehem: twelve cities and their villages.

16This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Zabulon by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.

17The fourth lot came out to Issachar by their kindreds.

18And his inheritance was Jezrael and Casaloth and Sunem,

19And Hapharaim and Seen and Anaharath,

20And Rabboth and Cesion, Abes,

21And Rameth and Engannim and Enhadda and Bethpheses.

22And the border thereof cometh to Thabor and Sehesima and Bethsames: and the outgoings thereof shall be at the Jordan: sixteen cities, and their villages.

23This is the possession of the sons of Issachar by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.

24And the fifth lot fell to the tribe of the children of Aser by their kindreds:

25And their border was Halcath and Chali and Beten and Axaph,

26And Elmelech and Amaad and Messal: and it reacheth to Carmel by the sea and Sihor and Labanath,

27And it returneth towards the east to Bethdagon: and passeth along to Zabulon and to the valley of Jephthael towards the north to Bethemec and Nehiel. And it goeth out to the left side of Cabul,

28And to Abaran and Rohob and Hamon and Cana, as far as the great Sidon.

29And it returneth to Horma to the strong city of Tyre, and to Hosa: and the outgoings thereof shall be at the sea from the portion of Achziba:

30And Amma and Aphec and Rohob: twenty-two cities, and their villages.

31This is the possession of the children of Aser by their kindreds, and the cities and their villages.

32The sixth lot came out to the sons of Nephtali by their families:

33And the border began from Heleph and Elon to Saananim, and Adami, which is Neceb, and Jebnael even to Lecum: and their outgoings unto the Jordan:

34And the border returneth westward to Azanotthabor, and goeth out from thence to Hucuca, and passeth along to Zabulon southward, and to Aser westward, and to Juda upon the Jordan towards the rising of the sun.

35And the strong cities are Assedim, Ser, and Emath, and Reccath and Cenereth,

36And Edema and Arama, Asor,

37And Cedes and Edri, Enhasor,

38And Jeron and Magdalel, Herem, and Bethanath and Bethsames: nineteen cities, and their villages.

39This is the possession of the tribe of the children of Nephtali by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.

40The seventh lot came out to the tribe of the children of Dan by their families:

41And the border of their possession was Saraa and Esthaol, and Hirsemes, that is, the city of the sun.

42Selebin and Aialon and Jethela,

43Elon and Themna and Acron,

44Elthece, Gebbethon and Balaath,

45And Jud and Bane and Barach and Gethremmon:

46And Mejarcon and Arecon, with the border that looketh towards Joppe,

47And is terminated there. And the children of Dan went up and fought against Lesem, and took it: and they put it to the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt in it, calling the name of it Lesem Dan, by the name of Dan their father.

48This is the possession of the tribe of the sons of Dan, by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.

49And when he had made an end of dividing the land by lot to each one by their tribes, the children of Israel gave a possession to Josue the son of Nun in the midst of them,

50According to the commandment of the Lord, the city which he asked for, Thamnath Saraa, in mount Ephraim: and he built up the city, and dwelt in it.

51These are the possessions which Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun, and the princes of the families, and of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed by lot in Silo, before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and they divided the land.
