Números 26

1Pasada esta plaga habló Yahvé a Moisés y a Eleazar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón, y dijo:

2“Haced el censo de todo el pueblo de los hijos de Israel, según sus casas paternas, de veinte años arriba, contando a todos los que pueden salir a la guerra en Israel.”

3Entonces Moisés y Eleazar, el sacerdote, hablaron con ellos en las campiñas de Moab, cerca del Jordán, frente a Jericó, diciendo:

4“ (Contad) a los de veinte años arriba, como ha mandado Yahvé a Moisés y a los hijos de Israel cuando salieron del país de Egipto.”

5Rubén, primogénito de Israel: los hijos de Rubén: de Enoc, la familia de los Enoquitas; de Falú, la familia de los Faluítas;

6de Hesrón, la familia de los Hesronitas; de Carmí, la familia de los Carmitas.

7Estas son las familias de los Rubenitas; y el resultado de su censo fue: cuarenta y tres mil setecientos treinta hombres.

8Hijos de Falú: Eliab.

9Hijos de Eliab: Nemuel, Datan y Abirón. Estos fueron aquel Datan y aquel Abirón, delegados del pueblo, que se sublevaron contra Moisés y Aarón, con la facción de Coré que se rebeló contra Yahvé.

10La tierra abrió su boca, y los tragó a ellos y a Coré, cuando murieron los de aquella facción, y el fuego devoró a doscientos cincuenta hombres, para que sirvieran de escarmiento.

11Mas los hijos de Coré no perecieron.

12Hijos de Simeón, según sus familias: de Nemuel, la familia de los Nemuelitas; de Jamín, la familia de los Jaminitas; de Jaquín, la familia de los Jaquinitas;

13de Zare, la familia de los Zareítas; de Saúl, la familia de los Saulitas.

14Estas son las familias de los Simeonitas: veinte y dos mil doscientos hombres.

15Hijos de Gad, según sus familias: de Sefón, la familia de los Sefonitas; de Hagí, la familia de los Hagitas; de Suní, la familia de los Sunitas;

16de Osní, la familia de los Osnitas; de Erí, la familia de los Eritas;

17de Arod, la familia de los Aroditas; de Arelí, la familia de los Arelitas.

18Estas son las familias de los hijos de Gad, conforme al resultado de su censo: cuarenta mil quinientos hombres.

19Hijos de Judá: Er y Onán. Murieron Er y Onán en el país de Canaán.

20Fueron los hijos de Judá, según sus familias: de Selá, la familia de los Selaítas; de Fares, la familia de los Faresitas; de Zara, la familia de los Zaraítas.

21Hijos de Fares fueron: de Hesrón, la familia de los Hesronitas; de Hamul, la familia de los Hamulitas.

22Estas son las familias de Judá, según el resultado de su censo: setenta y seis mil quinientos hombres.

23Hijos de Isacar, según sus familias: de Tolá, la familia de los Tolaítas; de Fuá, la familia de los Fuaítas;

24de Jasub, la familia de los Jasubitas; de Simrón, la familia de los Simronitas.

25Estas son las familias de Isacar, conforme al resultado de su censo: sesenta y cuatro mil trescientos hombres.

26Hijos de Zabulón, según sus familias: de Sared, la familia de los Sareditas; de Elón, la familia de los Elonitas; de Jahleel, la familia de los Jahleelitas.

27Estas son las familias de los Zabulonitas, según el resultado de su censo: sesenta mil quinientos hombres.

28Hijos de José, según sus familias: Manasés y Efraím.

29Hijos de Manasés: de Maquir, la familia de los Maquiritas. Maquir engendró a Galaad. De Galaad, la familia de los Galaaditas.

30Estos son los hijos de Galaad: de Jéser, la familia de los Jeseritas; de Hélec, la familia de los Helecitas;

31de Asriel, la familia de los Asrielitas; de Siquem, la familia de los Siquemitas;

32de Semidá, la familia de los Semidaítas; de Héfer, la familia de los Heferitas.

33Salfaad, hijo de Héfer, no tuvo hijos, sino solamente hijas. Los nombres de las hijas de Salfaad fueron Maalá, Noá, Hoglá, Milcá y Tirsá.

34Estas son las familias de Manasés; y fue el resultado de su censo: cincuenta y dos mil setecientos hombres.

35Estos son los hijos de Efraím, según sus familias: de Sutela, la familia de los Sutelaítas; de Béquer, la familia de los Bequeritas; de Tahan, la familia de los Tahanitas.

36Hijos de Sutela: de Eran, la familia de los Eranitas.

37Estas son las familias de los hijos de Efraím, conforme al resultado de su censo: treinta y dos mil quinientos hombres. Estos son los hijos de José, según sus familias.

38Hijos de Benjamín, según sus familias: de Bela, la familia de los Belaítas; de Asbel, la familia de los Asbelitas, de Ahiram, la familia de los Ahiramitas;

39de Sufam, la familia de los Sufamitas; de Hufam, la familia de los Hufamitas.

40Hijos de Bela fueron Ard y Naamán. (De Ard) la familia de los Arditas; de Naamán, la familia de los Naamitas.

41Estos son los hijos de Benjamín, según sus familias, y el resultado de su censo fue: cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos hombres.

42Estos son los hijos de Dan, según sus familias: de Suham, la familia de los Suhamitas. Esta es la descendencia de Dan según sus familias.

43Todas las familias de los Suhamitas fueron, conforme al resultado de su censo: sesenta y cuatro mil cuatrocientos hombres.

44Hijos de Aser, según sus familias: de Jemná, la familia de los Jemnaítas; de Isví, la familia de los Isvitas; de Beriá, la familia de los Beriaítas.

45Hijos de Beriá: de Héber, la familia de los Heberitas; de Malquiel, la familia de los Malquielitas.

46El nombre de la hija de Aser fue Sara.

47Estas son las familias de los hijos de Aser, conforme al resultado de su censo: cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos hombres.

48Hijos de Neftalí, según sus familias: de Jahsiel, la familia de los Jahsielitas; de Guní, la familia de los Gunitas;

49de Jéser, la familia de los Jeseritas; de Silem, la familia de los Silemitas.

50Esta es la descendencia de Neftalí, según sus familias. El resultado de su censo fue: cuarenta y cinco mil cuatrocientos hombres.

51Fue, pues, el resultado del censo de los hijos de Israel: seiscientos un mil setecientos treinta.

52Yahvé habló a Moisés, diciendo:

53“Entre estos será repartido el país, para que lo posean, según el número de los individuos.

54A la (tribu) numerosa darás mayor porción, y a la pequeña darás menos. Se le dará su herencia a proporción de su número;

55pero de manera que el país sea repartido por suertes. Lo han de heredar según los nombres de sus tribus paternas.

56Por la decisión de la suerte será repartido a cada una su porción según sea grande o pequeña.”

57Este es el censo de los levitas según sus familias: de Gersón, la familia de los Gersonitas; de Caat, la familia de los Caatitas; de Merarí, la familia de los Meraritas.

58Estas son las familias de los levitas: La familia de los Libnitas, la familia de los Hebronitas, la familia de los Mahlitas, la familia de los Musitas, la familia de los Coreítas. Caat engendró a Amram.

59La mujer de Amram se llamaba Jocabed, hija de Leví, que le nació a Leví en Egipto. Ella tuvo de Amram los hijos Aarón, Moisés y María, hermana de estos.

60A Aarón le nacieron Nadab, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

61Murieron Nadab y Abiú al ofrecer ante Yahvé un fuego extraño.

62Y fue el número de los (levitas), de todos los varones de un mes arriba, veinte y tres mil. No fueron contados entre los hijos de Israel, pues no se les había de dar posesión alguna en medio de los hijos de Israel.

63Este es el censo de los hijos de Israel, hecho por Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar en las campiñas de Moab, cerca del Jordán, frente a Jericó.

64Entre estos no se halló ninguno de los contados por Moisés y el sacerdote Aarón, quienes habían hecho el censo de los hijos de Israel en el desierto del Sinaí;

65pues de ellos había dicho Yahvé; “Morirán irremisiblemente en el desierto.” Y así no quedó ninguno de ellos, salvo Caleb, hijo de Jefone, y Josué, hijo de Nun.

2Numerate omnem summam filiorum Israël a viginti annis et supra, per domos et cognationes suas, cunctos qui possunt ad bella procedere.

3Locuti sunt itaque Moyses et Eleazar sacerdos, in campestribus Moab super Jordanem contra Jericho, ad eos qui erant

4a viginti annis et supra, sicut Dominus imperaverat, quorum iste est numerus.

5Ruben primogenitus Israël: hujus filius, Henoch, a quo familia Henochitarum: et Phallu, a quo familia Phalluitarum:

6et Hesron, a quo familia Hesronitarum: et Charmi, a quo familia Charmitarum.

7Hæ sunt familiæ de stirpe Ruben: quarum numerus inventus est quadraginta tria millia, et septingenti triginta.

8Filius Phallu, Eliab:

9hujus filii, Namuel et Dathan et Abiron: isti sunt Dathan et Abiron principes populi, qui surrexerunt contra Moysen et Aaron in seditione Core, quando adversus Dominum rebellaverunt:

10et aperiens terra os suum devoravit Core, morientibus plurimis, quando combussit ignis ducentos quinquaginta viros. Et factum est grande miraculum,

11ut, Core pereunte, filii illius non perirent.

12Filii Simeon per cognationes suas: Namuel, ab hoc familia Namuelitarum: Jamin, ab hoc familia Jaminitarum: Jachin, ab hoc familia Jachinitarum:

13Zare, ab hoc familia Zareitarum: Saul, ab hoc familia Saulitarum.

14Hæ sunt familiæ de stirpe Simeon, quarum omnis numerus fuit viginti duo millia ducenti.

15Filii Gad per cognationes suas: Sephon, ab hoc familia Sephonitarum: Aggi, ab hoc familia Aggitarum: Suni, ab hoc familia Sunitarum:

16Ozni, ab hoc familia Oznitarum: Her, ab hoc familia Heritarum:

17Arod, ab hoc familia Aroditarum: Ariel, ab hoc familia Arielitarum.

18Istæ sunt familiæ Gad, quarum omnis numerus fuit quadraginta millia quingenti.

22Istæ sunt familiæ Juda, quarum omnis numerus fuit septuaginta sex millia quingenti.

27Hæ sunt cognationes Zabulon, quarum numerus fuit sexaginta millia quingenti.

28Filii Joseph per cognationes suas, Manasse et Ephraim.

29De Manasse ortus est Machir, a quo familia Machiritarum. Machir genuit Galaad, a quo familia Galaaditarum.

30Galaad habuit filios: Jezer, a quo familia Jezeritarum: et Helec, a quo familia Helecitarum:

31et Asriel, a quo familia Asrielitarum: et Sechem, a quo familia Sechemitarum:

32et Semida, a quo familia Semidaitarum: et Hepher, a quo familia Hepheritarum.

33Fuit autem Hepher pater Salphaad, qui filios non habebat, sed tantum filias: quarum ista sunt nomina: Maala, et Noa, et Hegla, et Melcha, et Thersa.

34Hæ sunt familiæ Manasse, et numerus earum quinquaginta duo millia septingenti.

35Filii autem Ephraim per cognationes suas fuerunt hi: Suthala, a quo familia Suthalaitarum: Becher, a quo familia Becheritarum: Thehen, a quo familia Thehenitarum.

36Porro filius Suthala fuit Heran, a quo familia Heranitarum.

37Hæ sunt cognationes filiorum Ephraim: quarum numerus fuit triginta duo millia quingenti.

38Isti sunt filii Joseph per familias suas. Filii Benjamin in cognationibus suis: Bela, a quo familia Belaitarum: Asbel, a quo familia Asbelitarum: Ahiram, a quo familia Ahiramitarum:

39Supham, a quo familia Suphamitarum: Hupham, a quo familia Huphamitarum.

40Filii Bela: Hered, et Noëman. De Hered, familia Hereditarum: de Noëman, familia Noëmanitarum.

41Hi sunt filii Benjamin per cognationes suas: quorum numerus fuit quadraginta quinque millia sexcenti.

42Filii Dan per cognationes suas: Suham, a quo familia Suhamitarum. Hæ sunt cognationes Dan per familias suas.

43Omnes fuere Suhamitæ, quorum numerus erat sexaginta quatuor millia quadringenti.

44Filii Aser per cognationes suas: Jemna, a quo familia Jemnaitarum: Jessui, a quo familia Jessuitarum: Brie, a quo familia Brieitarum.

45Filii Brie: Heber, a quo familia Heberitarum: et Melchiel, a quo familia Melchielitarum.

46Nomen autem filiæ Aser fuit Sara.

47Hæ cognationes filiorum Aser, et numerus eorum quinquaginta tria millia quadringenti.

48Filii Nephthali per cognationes suas: Jesiel, a quo familia Jesielitarum: Guni, a quo familia Gunitarum:

49Jeser, a quo familia Jeseritarum: Sellem, a quo familia Sellemitarum.

50Hæ sunt cognationes filiorum Nephthali per familias suas: quorum numerus quadraginta quinque millia quadringenti.

51Ista est summa filiorum Israël, qui recensiti sunt, sexcenta millia, et mille septingenti triginta.

52Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:

53Istis dividetur terra juxta numerum vocabulorum in possessiones suas.

54Pluribus majorem partem dabis, et paucioribus minorem: singulis, sicut nunc recensiti sunt, tradetur possessio:

55ita dumtaxat ut sors terram tribubus dividat et familiis.

56Quidquid sorte contigerit, hoc vel plures accipiant, vel pauciores.

57Hic quoque est numerus filiorum Levi per familias suas: Gerson, a quo familia Gersonitarum: Caath, a quo familia Caathitarum: Merari, a quo familia Meraritarum.

58Hæ sunt familiæ Levi: familia Lobni, familia Hebroni, familia Moholi, familia Musi, familia Core. At vero Caath genuit Amram:

59qui habuit uxorem Jochabed filiam Levi, quæ nata est ei in Ægypto. Hæc genuit Amram viro suo filios, Aaron, et Moysen, et Mariam sororem eorum.

60De Aaron orti sunt Nadab et Abiu, et Eleazar et Ithamar:

61quorum Nadab et Abiu mortui sunt, cum obtulissent ignem alienum coram Domino.

62Fueruntque omnes qui numerati sunt, viginti tria millia generis masculini ab uno mense et supra: quia non sunt recensiti inter filios Israël, nec eis cum ceteris data possessio est.

63Hic est numerus filiorum Israël, qui descripti sunt a Moyse et Eleazaro sacerdote, in campestribus Moab supra Jordanem contra Jericho:

64inter quos, nullus fuit eorum qui ante numerati sunt a Moyse et Aaron in deserto Sinai:

65prædixerat enim Dominus quod omnes morerentur in solitudine. Nullusque remansit ex eis, nisi Caleb filius Jephone, et Josue filius Nun.

1After the blood of the guilty was shed, the Lord said to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron, the priest:

2Number the whole sum of the children of Israel from twenty years old and upward, by their houses and kindreds, all that are able to go forth to war.

3Moses therefore and Eleazar the priest, being in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho, spoke to them that were

4From twenty years old and upward, as the Lord had commanded: and this is the number of them:

5Ruben the firstborn of Israel. His sons were Henoch, of whom is the family of the Henochites: and Phallu, of whom is the family of the Phalluites:

6And Hesron, of whom is the family of the Hesronites: and Charmi, of whom is the family of the Charmites.

7These are the families of the stock of Ruben: whose number was found to be forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

8The son of Phallu was Eliab.

9His sons, were Namuel and Dathan and Abiron. These are Dathan and Abiron the princes of the people, that rose against Moses and Aaron in the sedition of Core, when they rebelled against the Lord:

10And the earth opening her mouth swallowed up Core, many others dying, when the fire burned two hundred and fifty men. And there was a great miracle wrought,

11That when Core perished, his sons did not perish.

12The sons of Simeon by their kindreds: Namuel, of him is the family of the Namuelites: Jamin, of him is the family of the Jaminites: Jachin, of him is the family of the Jachinites:

13Zare, of him is the family of the Zarites: Saul, of him is the family of the Saulites.

14These are the families of the stock of Simeon, of which the whole number was twenty-two thousand two hundred.

15The sons of Gad by their kindreds: Sephon, of hin; Is the family of the Sephonites: Aggi, of him is the family of the Aggites: Suni, of him is the family of the Sunites:

16Ozni, of him is the family of the Oznites: Her, of him is the family of the Herites:

17Arod, of him is the family of the Arodites: Ariel, of him is the family of the Arielites.

21Moreover the sons of Phares were: Hesron, of whom is the family of the Hesronites: and Hamul, of whom is the family of the Hamulites.

22These are the families of Juda, of which the whole number was seventy-six thousand five hundred.

23The sons of Issachar, by their kindreds: Thola, of whom is the family of the Tholaites: Phua, of whom is the family of the Phuaites:

24Jasub, of whom is the family of the Jasubites: Semran, of whom is the family of the Semranites.

25These are the kindreds of Issachar, whose number was sixty-four thousand three hundred.

26The sons of Zabulon by their kindreds: Sared, of whom is the family of the Saredites: Elon, of whom is the family of the Elonites: Jalel, of whom is the family of the Jalelites.

27These are the kindreds of Zabulon, whose number was sixty thousand five hundred.

28The sons of Joseph by their kindred, Manasses and Ephraim.

29Of Manasses was born Machir, of whom is the family of the Machirites. Machir beget Galaad, of whom is the family of the Galaadites.

30Galaad had sons: Jezer, of whom is the family of the Jezerites: and Helec, of whom is the family of the Helecites:

31And Asriel, of whom is the family of the Asrielites: and Sechem, of whom is the family of the Sechemites:

32And Semida, of whom is the family of the Semidaites: and Hepher, of whom is the family of the Hepherites.

33And Hepher was the father of Salphaad, who had no sons, but only daughters, whose names are these: Maala, and Noa, and Hegla, and Melcha, and Thersa.

34These are the families of Manasses, and the number of them fifty-two thousand seven hundred.

35And the sons of Ephraim by their kindreds were these: Suthala, of whom is the family of the Suthalaites: Becher, of whom is the family of the Becherites: Thehen, of whom is the family of the Thehenites.

36Now the son of Suthala was Heran, of whom is the family of the Heranites.

37These are the kindreds of the sons of Ephraim: whose number was thirty-two thousand five hundred.

38These are the sons of Joseph by their families. The sons of Benjamin in their kindreds: Bela, of whom is the family of the Belaites: Asbel, of whom is the family of the Asbelites: Ahiram, of whom is the family of the Ahiramites:

39Supham, of whom is the family of the Suphamites: Hupham, of whom is the family of the Huphamites.

40The sons of Bela: Hered, and Noeman. Of Hered, is the family of the Heredites: of Noeman, the family of tile Noemanites.

41These are the sons of Benjamin by their kindreds, whose number was forty-five thousand six hundred.

42The sons of Dan by their kindreds: Suham, of whom is the family of the Suhamites: These are the kindreds of Dan by their families.

43All were Suhamites, whose number was sixty-four thousand four hundred.

44The sons of Aser by their kindreds: Jemna, of whom is the family of the Jemnaites: Jessui, of whom is the family of the Jessuites: Brie, of whom is the family of the Brieites.

45The sons of Brie: Heber, of whom is the family of the Heberites: and Melchiel, of whom is the family of the Melchielites.

46And the name of the daughter of Aser, was Sara.

47These are the kindreds of the sons of Aser, and their number fifty-three thousand four hundred.

48The sons of Nephtali by their kindreds: Jesiel, of whom is the family of the Jesielites: Guni, of whom is the family of the Gunites:

49Jeser, of whom is the family of the Jeserites: Sellem, of whom is the family of the Sellemites.

50These are the kindreds of the sons of Nephtali by their families: whose number was forty-five thousand four hundred.

51This is the sum of the children of Israel, that were reckoned up, six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.

52And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

53To these shall the land be divided for their possessions according to the number of names.

54To the greater number thou shalt give a greater portion, and to the fewer a less: to every one, as they have now been reckoned up, shall a possession be delivered:

55Yet so that by lot the land be divided to the tribe and families.

56Whatsoever shall fall by lot, that shall be taken by the more, or the fewer.

57This also is the number of the sons of Levi by their families: Gerson, of whom is the family of the Gersonites: Caath, of whom is the family of the Caathites: Merari, of whom is the family of the Merarites.

58These are the families of Levi: The family of Lobni, the family of Hebroni, the family of Moholi, the family of Musi, the family of Core. Now Caath beget Amram:

59Who had to wife Jochabed the daughter of Levi, who was horn to him in Egypt. She bore to her husband Amram sons, Aaron and Moses, and Mary their sister.

60Of Aaron were born Nadab and Abiu, and Eleazar and Ithamar:

61Of whom Nadab and Abiu died, when they had offered the strange fire before the Lord.

62And all that were numbered, were twenty-three thousand males from one month old and upward: for they were not reckoned up among the children of Israel, neither was a possession given to them with the rest.

63This is the number of the children of Israel, that were enrolled by Moses and Eleazar the priest, in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan, over against Jericho.

64Among whom there was not one of them that were numbered before by Moses and Aaron in the desert of Sinai.

65For the Lord had foretold that they should die in the wilderness. And none remained of them, but Caleb the son of Jephone, and Josue the son of Nun.
